Introduction

I am a survivalist/prepper from way back. I am also a lifetime radio enthusiast. I hold an Amateur Extra ham license and, in the past, managed a radio store where I not only sold radios and equipment, and gave free advice, to amateurs all over the world; I also consulted and supplied radio systems to several military and quasi-military units.

While I am a ham, support the ham radio hobby, and will not abet unlicensed intrusions into our ham radio spectrum, I also realize that there is a need for non-ham civilian radio services, and that need is largely what this site exists to serve.

There is a lot of misinformation out there about radio communications. Hopefully, this site can be part of the solution.
